I got back from a week in the Caribbean about a month ago.
I enjoyed foods that I dont typically eat. I indulged in more alcoholic drinks in that week than I usually do in a month.
And I came back home up a few pounds.
I regret none of it.
10 years ago I would have got home, saw that I gained a few pounds, and freaked out.
I would have;
Cut calories hard
Done tons of cardio
Hit a few longer fasts
Now I do none of that.
I got home and got back to eating well and focusing on my current goal of dropping some bodyfat. I got back to my normal cardio routine. And I got back to my normal strength training program.
A month later and I am back to the same weight (actually down 5 pounds) compared to where I was when I left.
And even if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t care. Because I enjoyed vacation. I enjoyed the time with family and friends. I enjoyed traveling and seeing parts of the world I’ve never seen before.
There’s no need to punish yourself when you get back from vacation. Simply get back on track.
